MNA Membership Services
Spring & Fall
Conferences
Two major conferences are planned each
year by the association, assembling outstanding presenters, important work
sessions and bringing together the membership of the association. These annual conferences provide the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues and keep abreast of current negotiation issues. State Board CEU's are available to participants.
Mini Conferences
and Workshops
Smaller conferences and workshops are
offered to the membership during the year in four convenient
locations throughout the state. These are designed to
provide information and exchange ideas on current critical negotiation
problems and administration issues facing the membership.
Special Reports
Your association collects information
on areas of concern and interest to the members. From time to time the executive board compiles special reports to be issued to members. These reports will become permanent reference material for your
library.
Periodic Journal
The association publishes The Negotiator, bringing you information on a continuing and timely basis. Our editor selects information and prepares articles to keep your informed of developments in the field of employee relations, negotiations and activities
of the association.
Negotiating Training
Academy
The "Academy" is three days of intensive
training for school negotiators, board members, superintendents
and key bargaining representatives. This is an excellent
opportunity for new personnel to learn from seasoned school
negotiators and develop working relationships with peers. Two State Board
CEU's are available to participants.
Member Hot Line/Arbitration Selection Information
As an MNA member, you may call our coordinator of services or our executive board members at any time to
receive information or suggestions on negotiation problems you
encounter.
Speaker Service
The MNA executive board is available to
assist local school districts and school management groups in obtaining
speakers on topics dealing with negotiations and labor relations.
Supports Management
Philosophy
MNA is an active member of PERC.
Its board members work closely with MASB on negotiation topics
and many of our members also belong to MASPA and other similar
organizations. MNA's goal is to provide negotiators the support they
need in obtaining a fair settlement for their district.
